| Teach a Friend To
Homebrew Day THC event on
11/8/2008:
|
|
At Lloyd and Anne's house,
and the we are getting volunteers but as of 10/16/08 we can
still take a couple more. The club will pay for half
ingredient cost, up to $20 per person (i.e. half of $40). All brewers,
old new, middle-aged, and not-yet-brewers are invited to attend and
observe and enjoy the good company!
We are also lending all the equipment necessary,
providing bottles for any who need them, and plenty of help and
advice for whoever wants it.
We need to firm up our "friends"
list so that recipes are nailed down and ingredients are ready
to go.

*Not all kits are good or even OK. These
Brewers' Best kits have given some great results for us and people we know. NEVER add
"sugar" (meaning white sugar, sucrose) even if it says on a kit's instructions. And corn sugar should be kept to an absolute
minimum as well. (It's a bad kit that calls for sucrose or corn
sugar, but easy improvements can be made to change it to an acceptable
or good batch.)
And YOU
DON'T HAVE TO
USE A KIT. There are other ways to start.
Find a recipe and make a list of ingredients -- we'll figure a way to
get them here if we know what you want by Wednesday afternoon.
Extract batches are the simple way to start, but some crazy people once
in a while start with an all-grain batch.
